La Mantia Luxury Rooms

This is a website for a luxury guesthouse located in Palermo, Italy.

My client needed a website to showcase their property and reach a wider audience.

I started by creating a design system inspired by the client's preferences, and then developed the website using ReactJS and Vanilla CSS.

To allow my client to reach more people, I created a backend system using WordPress as a headless CMS, so they could easily create blog posts without needing to know code.

New in 2026

This site's blog has been incredibly successful, but to avoid performance issues with a moderately large user base, I suggested my client switch technology from ReactJS to NextJS.

The difference in terms of graphics is minimal, but I had to rewrite much of the site's code to ensure everything worked properly. I also created a blogging system from scratch that allows you to translate articles into all the languages offered by the site, add documents, and manage metadata (essential elements for proper SEO) completely independently.

To implement all these changes, we moved from a traditional hosting service to a full-fledged server that manages everything: site, database, mail server, etc.

My biggest achievement with this migration was managing to get the blog to load in less than a second, compared to the previous +3s.

The budget for this site is between €1,000 and €2,000 per year.

A portion of this budget is dedicated to server management, which is undoubtedly more expensive than traditional hosting.
